Sept. 4, 1923

West Lafayette Public Library board met in regular session at the Public Library and all were present except Mr. W. R. Smith.

The secretary's report was read and approved.

Mr. Cunningham gave the following financial report:

Mr. Cunningham also reported on delinquents and recommended that suit be brought against those who have failed to respond to notices sent to them. Mrs. Price moved that a friendly letter be sent to those who have paid part of their subscriptions, and that we see those who have not responded at all before further action be taken. The motion was properly seconded and passed.

Mr. Vawter – Pres. Of the Board reported that the Library Board and Town Board had purchasedjointly an Arcola double boiler to heat both the Clerk's office and the Library. The Library Board is to stand half of the cost of the heater.

Mr. Vawter reported that in the abssence of some members of the Board, the tax levy of 5c per $100.00 had been agreed upon.

Mrs. Dickey reported that additional shelf space was needed and the amtter was referred to the House Committee.

The Librarian's report of the contingent fund was as follows:

Total receipts – 15.28

Total expenditures – 10.79

Balance in Fund – 4.49

Mrs. Dickey then gave a report of her work during the summer at Indianapolis in the school for Librarians. Her report was interesting and instructive, and she expressed her sincere appreciation for the privilege extended to her by the Library Board.

The names of persons delinquent in the payment of their subscriptions to the West LaFayette Public Library were then parceled out to various members of the Library Board for them to see before the next meeting.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
