February 1st, 1927

The West Lafayette Library Board met in regular session at the library with the following members present: Mrs. Price, Mrs. McQueen, Mr. Burtsfield, Mr. Vawter, and Mr. Pierce. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 by the President, Mrs. Price.

The secretary's report at the January meeting was read and approved.

Mrs. Price reported that the plans for the District meeting, April 7th, were going forward. Prof. Hepbur has very kindly offered the use of a room in the Purdue Library for the sessions and meals are to be served at the Home Economics Building.

The president appointed the following standing committees for the year, 1927:

Finance – Mr. Burtsfield, Mr. Pierce, Dean Shoemaker

House and Grounds – Mr. Vawter, Mr. Campbell, Mrs. McQueen

Books – Mrs. McQueen, Dean Shoemaker, Mrs. Price

Mr. Vawter reported upon his investigation of prices for chairs for the auditorium. Following this report upon motion by Mr. Burtsfield, an appropriation of $150 was made to cover the cost of 36 large metal folding chairs, and 18 fourteen inch juvenile chairs.

Mr. Vawter made a motion which was carried that the secretary be instructed to write a letter to our representatives and state senator conveying to them in endorsement of the bill to erect a State Library and Historical Building and asking them to vote for same.

The Librarian's report was read and showed a balance of $

Upon motion of Mr. Burtsfield it was decided to authorize the president and secretary to borrow $200 from the Purdue Bank for 5 months.

The report on the contingent fund was read showing a balance of $4.25
