The West Lafayette Public Library Board met in regular session. All members were present but Mrs. Yeager and Mr. Burtsfield.
Bills were checked and ordered paid in the sum of $247.67.
Mary Smith, the assistant librarian, presented a request for a vacation on pay. The request was discussed and referred to the Finance Committee for settlement.
The librarian reported that the library had been open 27 days during the month of Aug. There was a circulation of 3729 books; - 2938 fiction and 791 non-fiction.
There are nearly 3000 borrowers, 24 new ones were added during the month.
There is a sum of $811 left in the book fund.
The question of repair to the typewriter was discussed and the question turned over to the House Committee.
There was also a request from the C. C. C. camp for the loan of books and reading matter. This request was turned over to the Books Committee for settlement.
