The West Lafayette Public Library is hiring a full time Reference & Teen Librarian

 

PATRON SERVICES REPONSIBILITIES
• Work at the Library’s Reference Desks: Assist patrons with reference questions and aid in their use of the Library and its collections


COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT FOR TEENS AND ADULTS
• Serve on the adult materials selection committee
• Order materials for the Library’s collections
• Fulfilling materials requests: ILL and PDA
• Evergreen Indiana ILS Cat-1 & Cat-2 level cataloging


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create, staff, and schedule teen and adult programs both inside and outside of the Library
• Act as librarian on duty when required; assist in opening and closing procedures of the Library
• Attend monthly staff meetings
• Other duties as assigned


BENEFITS
• Salary range is $36,000 - $40,000/year
• This position is exempt under FLSA labor laws
• Excellent benefits package including health, dental & vision


REQUIREMENTS
• ALA accredited MLS degree
• Must qualify for Indiana Library Certification Level 3
• Strong computer skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Some evening and weekend hours required
• Physical labor: lifting up to 25 pounds, pushing book carts, bending & stooping
• Fund raising experience a plus
