"The Forbidden Temptation of Baseball" is a book about two Chinese brothers' difficulty with adapting to American life after being sent by the Emperor to learn American ways. 

Though both struggle to maintain their Chinese identities in their new home, through time and the pursuit of the new American sport of baseball, one of the brothers slowly begins to integrate into American culture.  
Written for young readers, "The Forbidden Temptation of Baseball" tells a story set in late 19th century Amercia that can resonate with readers of all ages today.

Dan Rhodes, Manager of Government and Community Relations for the Greater Lafayette area presents a check for $8,000 to West Lafayette Public Library Director Nick Schenkel.

The donation will be used to fund the purchase of children’s books for all ages and the purchase of large print books

Duke's donated funds will also support a new Library initiative that will develop Memory Kits, containing multi-sensory materials focused on reminiscing, foster engagement, and discussion between individuals with memory loss and their caregivers.

Beginning January 1st, 2018 the Library will no longer be charging overdue fines for any Evergreen Indiana items checked out from WLPL!

Any overdue fees prior to that date will be cut in half.

The Library now offers our patrons free faxing for local and long distance (within the continental United States).

The fax is built-in to our photocopier on the 2nd fl. Instructions are posted next to the copier or just ask a staff member.
